MEET THE MAKERS
Michelle has spent virtually her whole life in the arts from a very early age in dancing moving through to theatre and dance in her teens. In parallel to this Michelle has always loved to write and has produced an extensive catalogue of work which includes published material both in the UK and America.
After raising a family of four children and with the writing continuing throughout those years Michelle started to experiment with drawing and painting. From her years of writing she now wanted to try and create a visualisation of her written work and the ideas built up over the years.
In her thirties, Michelle started to use photography to capture both landscape and marine images which she could use to create her paintings from. This worked so successfully that she ended up opening her own photographic gallery in Polperro, Cornwall as a business, and a successful one to boot.
Nowadays Michelle is embellishing all of her skills and experience to produce some stunning paintings of the Cornish coastline creating a strong demand from both locals and visitors alike.
Taking her influence from her close connections with the sea, her Dad being a marine engineer and fisherman, she spent most of her childhood on or around boats, spending many a weekend sea fishing with her Dad and Grandfather. This passion has stayed with her and is reflected in many of her published pieces of written work and paintings.
All of Michelle’s art is available as original artwork , greetings cards and a large range of ceramics.
Jeff is the creator of all the candle art in the Classically Cornish collection, all designed and handmade by him. Each item is an original idea capturing the beautiful Cornish scenery in each item. He has developed them over time to create the perfect Cornish gift in a jar.
Jeff creates all of the soaps, making each one individual and unique. Cornish Sunset and Beach Life being his most popular.
He also designs and makes all of our jewellery which he will soon be creating in solid silver. No two pieces are the same and take time and patience to create.
Each item produced demonstrates a passion and love of Cornwall.
Working together they create Classically Cornish and hope to bring an element of the coast to the products that they produce.
